The Diocese of Worcester Does it Again!

The diocese trumpeted the availability of Confession every Tuesday evening at 7- 8:00 pm all during Lent. After attempting 4 different parishes, I came home disappointed, angry, sweaty and still in desperate need of confession.
Best response I got at a church this evening: Call the Chancery to schedule one. They expect me to trust them on that one?

Let this be another lesson for me in the folly of living one-and-a-half hours away from my regular church/pastor.

In a way, I empathize. In a way. You see I really didn't need to go to Confession, but you see, my last Confessor, from 4 months ago, told me to go more often than 6 months. So I picked the Wed. before the Triduum. You see, the Archdiocese of Boston, has been publicizing a promotion called "The Light's On." That means that every Wed. 6:30-8:00 PM, in the Archdiocese of Boston, they'll be Confession. Ha! I didn't want to go to my own parish priests; I'm just not comfortable. So I went to the next town over. I went to St. Brendan's--not a car in the parking lot. I passed by St. Joseph's -- same thing. But when I went to St. Blaise, huzzah! The parking lot was pretty full. I followed some people in. They turned to me and said, "We're slow, go ahead of us." I chatted with them and found out that the cars were all for a Simple Supper, not Confession.
So I didn't go. :-(
Tell you what. Let's both go to the LFSD Region One meeting on May 21st, in W. Springfield, and we'll go to a Dominican Friar. We'll just ask him when he has time, we'd like to go to Confession.
OK?
